These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Rugby Matchmaker. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — they include important information about subscriptions, cancellation, and what you can and cannot do with the app.
1. About Rugby Matchmaker
Rugby Matchmaker is a fixture exchange platform that allows rugby clubs to broadcast fixture availability and connect with suitable opponents. It is operated by Sports Matchmaker Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated in England and Wales.
The app is available on iOS (via the Apple App Store) and Android (via Google Play). The website is available at rugbymatchmaker.com and rugbymatchmaker.co.uk.

2. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Rugby Matchmaker, you confirm that you:
- Are at least 18 years old
- Are acting on behalf of a rugby club or sports organisation
- Have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms
- Agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Rugby Matchmaker.
3. Licence to use the app
Subject to these terms, Sports Matchmaker Ltd grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use Rugby Matchmaker on devices you own or control, solely for your personal and club administration purposes.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the app or its content
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the app
- Use the app to build a competing product or service
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
This licence does not grant you any rights to our intellectual property other than the limited right to use the app as described in these terms.
4. Accounts and registration
To use Rugby Matchmaker, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete registration information
- Maintaining the security of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
You may only register one club account per rugby club. Creating multiple accounts for the same club is not permitted. If we detect duplicate club registrations, we reserve the right to merge or remove duplicate accounts.
You must be an authorised representative of the club you register. By registering a club, you confirm you have the authority to do so.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Subscription tiers
Rugby Matchmaker offers the following annual subscription plans:
- Club Small — for clubs with 1–6 users: £99 per year
- Club Large — for clubs with 7 or more users: £149 per year
Prices are in GBP and inclusive of any applicable taxes. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified of any price changes before their renewal date.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions are billed annually and renew automatically unless cancelled. Payment is processed through your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) using the payment method associated with your store account.
Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. The renewal charge will be taken within 24 hours of the renewal date.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings:
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Rugby Matchmaker
- Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → Rugby Matchmaker
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a subscription period, except where required by applicable law.
Refunds
All purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by law. If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us at hello@rugbymatchmaker.com within 14 days of the charge. Refund requests for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play must be submitted directly to Apple or Google respectively.
Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Sports Matchmaker Ltd does not directly handle payment card information. All billing disputes must be raised through your app store.
Free features
Certain features of Rugby Matchmaker are available without a subscription, including browsing club profiles, viewing the season planner, and accessing the messaging inbox. A subscription is required to broadcast fixture availability and to use the Find a Fixture feature.
6. Free tier and founding clubs
Founding club offer
Clubs that register during our launch window (iOS: 2nd–4th June 2026; Android: 9th–11th June 2026) will receive free access to all paid features until 1st January 2027 (the "Founding Club Period"). No payment is required during this period.
At the end of the Founding Club Period, founding clubs will be prompted to subscribe to continue accessing paid features. Standard pricing applies from that point.
This offer is only available to clubs that register during the specified launch windows. We reserve the right to verify eligibility and withdraw the offer if we determine it has been claimed fraudulently.
Complimentary access
We may, at our sole discretion, grant complimentary access to the app to specific clubs or individuals. Complimentary access may be withdrawn at any time with reasonable notice.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use Rugby Matchmaker only for its intended purpose — arranging fixtures between rugby clubs — and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
You must not:
- Use the app to send spam, unsolicited messages, or commercial advertising unrelated to fixture arrangements
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Post false, misleading, or defamatory information about other clubs
- Use the app to facilitate any unlawful activity
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or our systems
- Scrape, harvest, or extract data from the app for commercial purposes
- Impersonate another club or person
- Interfere with or disrupt the app or its servers
- Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code
We reserve the right to investigate and take action — including suspending or terminating accounts — where we believe these rules have been violated.
8. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit to Rugby Matchmaker, including club profiles, team information, and messages. By submitting content, you grant Sports Matchmaker Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the service.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you submit:
- Is accurate and not misleading
- Does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Does not contain offensive, defamatory, or unlawful material
- Complies with these terms and applicable law
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we consider harmful to other users or to the reputation of Rugby Matchmaker.
9. Intellectual property
Rugby Matchmaker, including its name, logo, design, software, and all content created by us, is the intellectual property of Sports Matchmaker Ltd and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.
The "Rugby Matchmaker" name and associated branding are trade marks of Sports Matchmaker Ltd. You may not use our trade marks without our prior written consent.
Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
10. Disclaimers
Rugby Matchmaker is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
- The app will meet your specific requirements
- Any fixture arrangements made through the app will be honoured by the other club
- The information provided by other clubs is accurate or complete
Rugby Matchmaker facilitates connections between clubs but is not a party to any fixture arrangement. We are not responsible for the conduct of clubs you connect with through the app.
Sports Matchmaker Ltd is a technology platform only. We facilitate introductions between rugby clubs but have no involvement in, and accept no responsibility for, the organisation, conduct, or outcome of any fixture arranged through the app, including but not limited to:
- Player injuries or accidents occurring before, during, or after a match
- Cancellations or no-shows by either club
- Travel costs, accommodation, or expenses incurred in connection with a fixture
- Disputes between clubs regarding match results, conduct, or arrangements
- Any failure by either club to comply with RFU, WRU, SRU, or other governing body rules
- Any third party costs or losses arising from a fixture arrangement
Clubs are solely responsible for ensuring they have appropriate insurance, qualified first aid, and comply with all relevant governing body regulations before playing any fixture.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sports Matchmaker Ltd shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Any loss arising from your reliance on information provided by other clubs
- Any loss arising from fixture cancellations or no-shows by other clubs
- Any loss arising from interruption or unavailability of the service
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising under or in connection with these terms shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights that cannot be excluded by these terms. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
12. Termination
Termination by you
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Deleting your account will cancel any active subscription at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds on termination.
Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if:
- You breach these terms in a material way
- We are required to do so by law
- We reasonably believe your account poses a risk to other users or to the platform
- Your account has been inactive for more than 24 months
If we terminate your account due to a breach of these terms, you are not entitled to a refund of any subscription fees paid.
Effect of termination
Upon termination, your licence to use the app ends immediately. We will delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Apple and Google terms
Rugby Matchmaker is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your use of the app is also subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant app store.
Apple App Store
If you download Rugby Matchmaker from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:
- These terms are between you and Sports Matchmaker Ltd, not Apple Inc.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app
- Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you
- Your use of the app is also subject to the Apple Standard EULA
Google Play
If you download Rugby Matchmaker from Google Play, your use of the app is subject to the Google Play Terms of Service in addition to these terms.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting a notice in the app
- Sending an email to your registered address (for significant changes)
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
If you continue to use Rugby Matchmaker after changes take effect, you are deemed to have accepted the updated terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should stop using the app and cancel your subscription.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or another jurisdiction, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of that jurisdiction.
